The Berkley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing - BOINC, makes it simple for you to donate some of that idle processing capacity you have on your desk for the good of humanity, or just to see what distributed computing is all about.

Acacia is pleased to be participating in various projects since as far back as Jan 2003 on the SETI project. Click on the links below to find out more.

In case you were wondering SETI stands for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. You can use your PC to analyse signals from the Arecibo Radio Observatory and help scientists find ET.

Rosetta@home is a scientific research project that uses internet-connected computers to predict and design protein structures, and protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. Their goal is to develop methods that accurately predict and design protein structures and complexes, an endeavor that may ultimately help researchers develop cures for human diseases

LHC@home assist the preparatory data analysis effort for the Large Hadron Collider - a particle accelerator which is being built at CERN and will be the worlds most powerful instrument ever build to study particle physics.

Einstein@Home uses your computer's idle time to search for spinning neutron stars (also called pulsars) using data from the LIGO and GEO gravitational wave detectors. Einstein@Home is currently searching the most sensitive 600 hours of data from LIGO's fourth science run, S4.

You simply need a Windows or Linux system. Many systems are even better.
